A Mercedes van pulls into a driveway.

A bodyguard stands by as Lil Yachty climbs out of the van.

at the driveway. Later, he sits in a living room in front of a blonde woman with papers. Behind her, a

Lil Yachty stares down the camera as the man adjusts the settings. Then, Lil Yachty interviews.
LIL YACHTY: I get in front of a crowd of people and play music. I go to a studio and make songs, I don't

The back of his leather phone case reads "Boat" in gold lettering. A guy in the back of the van grins.
LIL YACHTY: I literally lived the exact same lifestyle when I was at my mom's house.
Lil Yachty laughs in the van. Back at the house, he interviews.
LIL YACHTY: Like, I literally don't -- It almost seems fake, but I don't do nothing differently.
Lil Yachty climbs out of the van onto a sidewalk and a hip-hop beat plays.
LIL YACHTY: Like, I forget that I'm a rapper half the time. I forget that I can't just walk in public places. I
forget I can't just get out my bed and just run to the mall to grab something.
Lil Yachty interviews. On the Strip, a camera crew lingers around him near a sign for an ATM. In a store,
he surveys a wall filled with shelves of sneakers. Another guy holds a stack of cash. Lil Yachty
LIL YACHTY: Like, I literally forget these things all the time.
At night, a crowd gathers near a store. Cheering, they take pictures and film with their phones as Lil
Yachty gets out of the van.
MALE INTERVIEWER: Why do you think that, like, teens and the youth are so attracted to--I won't even
just say your music, but, like, your movement?
Lil Yachty interviews.
LIL YACHTY: 'Cause they can relate to me. I think they feel like they see themselves in me.
A long line of teens stretches down a block. They wait, laugh in groups, and tap on their phones.
LIL YACHTY: They just understand what I talk about sometimes and what I'm going through, whatever
A Lil Yachty song plays as Lil Yachty signs the inside brim of a baseball cap. He poses for a photo, then
signs the back of a kid's tee-shirt. The boy takes a photo of him, then Lil Yachty interviews.
LIL YACHTY: I just, I love the youth. I love the young, I do. They're cooler than me, so.
In camo pants and red sneakers, Lil Yachty walks a hallway backstage.
LIL YACHTY: I'm the same person I was year ago, you know?
In a venue, a crowd waits, watching the stage. Lil Yachty interviews.
LIL YACHTY: I'm the same person as that person looking up to me. I go on stage and I do my thing and
kill it, but like, you know, I'm just like anybody else.
The excited crowd jumps and sings along. On stage, Lil Yachty jumps and raps into a microphone. Teens
film on their phones as laser lights flash.
LIL YACHTY: Only difference is all these cameras around me, but I just--I do me, you know?
Lil Yachty sprays water across the excited audience. He interviews.
LIL YACHTY: A big part of doing me is, you know, living tobacco-free.
A hand holds a phone above the cheering audience to film a video of Lil Yachty on stage. He jumps in
unison with the crowd.
LIL YACHTY: When I tell rappers, other big rappers in the game, they actually applaud me.
SD : Interviewing, Lil Yachty straightens in his chair.
LIL YACHTY: Like, "That's good, man. I respect you." You know? Every time, that's always the answer.
Hundred percent. It's "Dang, man. I wish I could do that." Or, "Dang, man. I respect you." It's always a
Lil Yachty and another performer splash water from bottles over the raging crowd. Interviewing, Lil
Yachty shakes his head.
LIL YACHTY: I'm trying to stay in this game for a long time, and can't nothing get in the way of that.
